This restaurant on Dihua Street was also open for business, just like the others. Tables and chairs were lined up in front of the restaurant, but there were no customers to be seen. Instead, two female waitresses were sitting on the floor. They looked bored, perhaps because there were no customers. They seemed to be talking about something over the table.
The expression on the woman sitting across from them caught my eye. She looked unhappy. She looked as if she was about to start crying. Just looking at her face made me feel a little uncomfortable.
There was a somewhat melancholy atmosphere in the storefront. Perhaps it was the expression on her face. I wondered if such an atmosphere was one of the reasons why the store was not attracting any customers, and I took the liberty of imagining it. But I don't know what the real reason is. But I was certain that there was a hint of it in this quiet space.
