Chicken meat was sold at the butcher shop in the Khlong Toei market, but chicken eggs were not sold there. I walked around the market, wondering where people who wanted to buy eggs could buy them when butcher shops did not sell eggs.
Then, I found a store selling chicken eggs at a different place from the butcher's counter. Thai people also eat chicken eggs, so there is a place to sell them. From what I saw, all they sell here are eggs. I think that chicken meat and eggs are shipped from poultry farms in the same way, but I wonder why they are sold in different places. If you think about it, the situation is the same in Japan, where eggs are not sold in places where chicken meat is sold. I am not sure what the reason is, but it is the same in Japan as in Thailand. I am not sure what it is, though.
In any case, many customers came to the store selling chicken eggs to buy them. The shopkeepers were quietly taking orders from the shoppers. One of the customers was a man with a stubble beard, who was shouting something at the female clerk, but she seemed not to hear him and continued her work.
