It was still early for dinner, but there were many customers at the eating places lining Dihua Street in Taipei. On the walls of them with tables set up, menus of various dishes were written in Chinese. Some of them were noodle dishes, some were fish dishes, and some were stinky tofu. Some of them had a sentence written in Japanese. Taiwan is such a popular destination for Japanese that books about Taiwan are stacked in bookstores. Many Japanese tourists probably visit here as well.
A young man was sitting at a table in one of the eating places. I see bowls on the table, so he must have finished his meal. There was a woman next to him who appeared to be his girlfriend, and she was talking to him, but he was looking blankly somewhere in the distance, not at her. It was as if something was being said that he did not want to hear.
