Everyone is busy minding their own business and dealing with shoppers, and the bustling local market is noisy. In a world where souvenir shops are non-existent, there are no unscrupulous touts looking for dumb tourists, even though there are people shouting sales pitches at the top of their lungs. I walk through the peaceful world pretending to be a local. I don't speak Taiwanese, but I expect that if I keep quiet, people will think I am Taiwanese. When abroad, I am often mistaken for a Korean, and in Seoul I was often asked for directions, but when I came to Taiwan this time, the airline staff mistook me for a Chinese. I think that my appearance is gradually becoming more and more Chinese.
Even though I feel like I fit in perfectly with my surroundings, I seem to be different from the outside world, and some people working in the market suddenly look at me. If I think about it calmly, that's right. I'm in the fresh food section, with a camera in my hand, not buying anything. He was obviously not a shopper. The man in the photo is one of the people who noticed me standing out from the crowd. When I pointed my camera at his eyes, he gave me a big smile.
