After walking for about an hour, I finally arrived at the Chongde Market, which I had been aiming for. Chongde Market is not a tourist market, but a large market, and most of the products sold inside are fresh foods. The only people visiting to buy are locals.
When I stepped into the market, the first thing I saw was the man in the photo. The man with the apron was a fishmonger. The town of Tainan faces the seaside, so freshly landed fish must be coming into the market. There was a fish on a round chopping board, and the man was just in the process of processing it. What kind of fish was it? Around here, a fish called milkfish is commonly eaten, but the fish the man was cutting seemed to be a different kind of fish.
