Although the market was dim and a few customers walked, some people worked. The bustling seemed to hole up somewhere. I felt as if I wandered off into the underground city because of the dimness. Perhaps, the reason why I felt so was that I have read a novel written by Philip K. Dick recently.
The woman in this photo was one of those who worked in the market. She worked in the butcher. A round wooden chopping board was placed in front of her. And she was just cutting the meat into pieces with a knife in her hand. She seemed to mince. Even though I stood just in front of her, she didn’t cast an eye on me. She was too busy to care about a stranger who came from the surface of the ground. She kept mincing heart and soul.
