The Yamuliao market in Tainan was bustling with activity and the fishmonger was busily working. On a round wooden chopping board was a fish that appeared to be a milkfish, and the man was in the process of cutting its flesh into a straight slice. In the markets of Tainan, milkfish are often sold. It is not so familiar to Japanese people, but it is a major fish here.
The man was just about to make a slit in his flesh, and it was clear that the flesh had straight slits. The man was working diligently on the slice and didn't give me a second glance. Maybe he didn't even notice that I was standing right next to him.
I was admiring the man's deftness. At the same time, I couldn't help but wonder why he was wearing a different color glove. Maybe I'm just too busy to think that much.
