Just outside the market building, under the eaves, was a row of shops dedicated to selling chicken. Every shop specialized exclusively in chicken, with no other types of meat in sight. It seemed that different areas of the market were designated for specific products, as the stalls selling mutton were located elsewhere. This section, however, was all about chicken, with vibrant reds and whites creating a striking visual contrast.
The man in the photo was one of the workers in this chicken section. In front of him was a large chopping block made of solid wood, and on top of it lay a chicken leg. With practiced precision, he used his knife to skillfully butcher the meat. His movements were efficient and fluid, reflecting years of routine—his body operating as though on autopilot.
As I approached with my camera, the man noticed me. He paused his busy hands for a moment and glanced toward the camera. There was no sign of suspicion or irritation at having his work interrupted. Instead, his expression carried a quiet curiosity—just a brief acknowledgment of an outsider stepping into his ordinary day.
