Wandering aimlessly, I came to a fishmonger in Khlong Toei Market. Some people were working and pieces of fish were scattered around in the shop. It was a busy shop.
A round wooden chopping blocks were placed. Apart from Japan, this kind of chopping block seemed to be common in Thailand. I thought it was similar to Taiwan. Perhaps, Japan is in a minority in fact.
The man in this photo was one of the members working there. He had a clever in his right hand and held in a fish with his left hand. And he was cutting the fish in a workmanlike manner. He might keep cutting for hours. His apron got soiled from scales and fragments. The fishmonger is dirty work.
In such a situation, he seemed not to forget being stylish. Although his apron was stained badly, his snazzy hat was spotlessly clean.
