I wandered around the Sampeng Market even though I had nothing in particular to buy. This is a market that appears in many guidebooks and attracts many tourists, but there are also locals. It is a busy and enjoyable market. While there are a variety of products on display in every storefront, as you walk around, you notice that it is not only products sold in the stores. There are also street vendors setting up stalls in front of the stores. They often go unnoticed because they appear to be one with the stores. In a crowded market, street vendors blend in with the stores and the crowd.
Two female customers stopped to buy a snack in front of a street vendor who was out by the crowded aisles of the Sampeng Market. They must have been hungry. The street vendor's wares were placed on a portable wagon set aside. The wagon has what looks like a round handle. It is likely that the wagon carries shelves by inserting a balance stick into these two holes. In other words, this female street vendor used carrying poles to bring her goods to this location.
