While walking around the Myoma market in Tanin, I approached people from every side and took pictures. Luckily, the people in the market here were not afraid to have their photos taken. Most people are very friendly to foreigners with cameras who show up unexpectedly. The level of tolerance for cameras varies from place to place, but the people here are all very tolerant. They probably just think I am a little bit strange.
What impressed me the most was that my camera was the start of a conversation among the workers. As I stayed in one place and took pictures, the conversation began to flow without regard to my presence. The two women in the photo are also enjoying conversation with their colleagues without being aware of my camera. It was the appearance of a foreigner with a camera that triggered the conversation, but before I knew it, I had been relegated to the back corner of my mind.
In this case, the camera and I are no longer needed. I can only leave stealthily, feeling as if I have done something good.
