I was walking along the corridor facing the road. The stores facing the road at the Myo Ma Market in Thanlyin were all clothing stores and toy stores, and none of them sold fresh food. It was as if such stores were supposed to do business inside the market.
Perhaps because there were no stores selling fresh food, there were not many people walking around the corridors. Maybe it was just because it was early afternoon on a weekday and not the time to buy clothes or toys. In any case, the clerks in the stores seemed to be waiting for customers to come in, not doing anything. The girl in the photo was one of those clerks who had nothing better to do.
The girl was sitting quietly on a plastic chair in the deserted hallway. She was dressed in pretty clothes, as she had worked in a clothing store. The two-tone colors of pink and dark blue were quite vivid. If you look closely, you can see that there are ribbons attached here and there on her clothes. She must be a stylish girl. When I pointed my camera at her, she smiled shyly.
