Inside the market in Thanlyin, there was a quiet atmosphere. The people working in the stores were relaxed, and there were not many shoppers walking along the aisles that stretched between the stores. It didn't seem to be a busy time.

There was a low table in the aisle, and a woman in a pink shirt was sitting beside it. The woman wore a flower ornament in her hair, a gold necklace around her neck, and a large gold ring on her finger. The woman wearing a number of golden accessories seems to be in good standing. But the woman was not selling precious metals, she was selling chicken. Some chickens were laid out on a table.

When I approached and pointed my camera at her, the female chicken seller smiled bitterly, as if she was embarrassed. She seemed to be pondering why she had been chosen as a subject for the foreign tourists. The people around her were also laughing at the situation. Perhaps laughter in a world where nothing is the same is brought about by people from other worlds.

If you look closely, you can see that the shopper standing near the woman is holding a large purse in her hand. It is the same kind of large purse that many women carry in Japan. In Myanmar, too, women are expected to carry large purses.
