I wanted to go back to the center of Thanlyin, but I also knew that it would not be interesting to follow the same path I had taken when I arrived. I was looking for a different route back to Oak Pho Su Station, so I decided to walk on the railroad tracks. The tracks go on and on, forever. And trains don't run on this track that often. It's not dangerous to walk on the tracks.
As I walked on the tracks, I saw many other local people walking on the tracks as well. The young man walking behind me was one of them. As I stopped, he gradually came closer to me. He was wearing a white shirt and jeans, and his face was painted with Thanaka.
Upon closer inspection, I saw that he was walking happily with a lunch box in one hand. The metal lunch box had three layers and looked just like the dabba lunch boxes often seen in India. A multi-layered container like a dabba is also a common lunch box in Myanmar, where a side dish like curry is usually eaten with the staple food, rice.
