I was walking through a village near the Oak Pho Su Station. This is not a tourist spot or anything. I was the only foreigner walking around. In other words, I am alien to this place, but the locals don't try to exclude me when they see me. They just look at me from a distance. It may be that they just don't know how to deal with me because it doesn't happen that often. To begin with, there were very few people in this quiet village.
The boy in the photo is one of the few locals I met. He was playing by himself, but when he spotted me, he hurriedly came to me and puffed out his chest. Holding a thin stick in his hand, he looked confidently at me, as if he were some kind of instructor. I don't know why, but he reminded me of Sergeant Hartman from Full Metal Jacket. However, it is not that he looks like him. It may just be that the way he held the thin stick horizontally reminded me of a reprimanding instructor.
