Boys relaxing in high-floored house — Two boys in a small village

I continued on deeper into the village near the Oak Pho Su Station in Thanlyin. Although it is only a few minutes' walk from the station, a location that anyone in Tokyo would want to live in, there is not a single store here. All that stands here are houses on stilts and livestock sheds. There was no downtown atmosphere at all, and the air was tranquil. It was a perfect country town.

As I walked through the village, I met two boys. They seemed to be relaxing at home. I guess they don't see foreign tourists with cameras in their hands in a village that is not a tourist spot. The two boys who found me seemed a little bewildered by the situation.

The boy who was sitting on the steps at the entrance had a scowl on his face, which was smeared with thanaka, and the other boy was lying down inside the house and looking at me curiously. The boy who was lying down seemed to understand the situation and felt he had to strike some kind of pose, so he looked at the camera and made a hand sign with his hand, extending his index finger and thumb.
