Woman Leaning Against The Door Frame

Woman sitting up by herself

The woman sat at the entrance to her house

Shot in the city of Thanlyin, Myanmar.

The lanes in the area crammed full of the dwellings were tranquil. No vehicles were running. They were too narrow for the vehicle. So I could no hear the sound of engines during walking. The only sound I could hear was the daily life noise of local people. However, all the locals made a noise. Most of them lived silently. The woman also kept quiet in the lane.

With doing nothing, she sat up by herself at the entrance of her house. She sat there so silently that I could notice her existence until I came to in front of her. As contrasted with me, she seemed to find me a little while back. Even I stopped in front of her, she was not surprised. Thanaka was painted not only her face but also arms. It is said that Thanaka was used as both a sunscreen and a cosmetic product. Yet she didn't use it as a cosmetic item when I saw her way to paint. The traces of the brush was seen bodywide.
