Entered a passage in front of a market. Because of the location, it could be crowded in the daytime. Yet it was already night. Few pedestrians walked the passage. The atmosphere was lonely. However, I was not aware of any danger. The city of Yangon was a safe city. At any rate, I thought it was not dangerous to walk around in the night.
Coming to the entrance of the market, I found a young woman sitting by the wayside. A small table was placed in front of her and some betel leaves were put on it. She sold Kun there. Seemingly, she had a time in her hands because no customers came to her. So she was watching the screen of her smartphone fixedly.
When I came to Yangon 8 years ago, no one had any smartphones. Besides, it was uncommon to see locals who had their own cell phone at that time. The situation seemed to change completely compared to 8 years ago. On that occasion, the locals read books. And I thought the people in this country could be bookworms.
