As I walked down the corridor of the building at the Myo Ma Market in Thanlyin, I noticed a staircase leading to the second floor. This building had two floors. The second floor had the same exterior corridor, but while the first-floor corridor faced the street outside, the second-floor corridor faced the inside of the market. From the corridor, I could see the straight passage that ran through the market. People were coming and going at a leisurely pace. It must not be a busy time of the day. The number of people coming and going was sparse.
It was not raining, but some people were walking with umbrellas to avoid the strong sun. People in Myanmar tend to wear brightly colored clothes. The same can be said for umbrellas, and I often saw quite colorful umbrellas. As I was absentmindedly looking at them, a woman appeared in the aisle below me. It was a woman with an umbrella. And the umbrella was purple and as bright as I expected. The woman was walking slowly toward the back of the aisle. The purple umbrella shone very well in the sunlight.
