I entered the roof-covered area of the Khlong Toei market and made my way through the dimly lit corridors. In contrast to other places, this place is deserted. Perhaps it is a place under construction. The passageway just stretched in the dim light, and there were few stores. The place was enveloped in silence.
In the meantime, I came to one of the few stores that were open in the dim light. There was a wagon with a lot of eggs on it, and a man wearing a white shirt like a cock coat was standing there. This man must be the owner of the store. A bare light bulb attached to the wagon illuminated the bespectacled man's face.
He looked bored. As I approached, he did not seem to see me, nor did he give me a glance. I was in the middle of a journey, and every day I felt that what I saw was fresh and new, but to the man, it was just another day in his mundane life. Indeed, when asked if I enjoy working every day, I cannot confidently answer that I do. At best, I can only say that there may be times when I enjoy my work.
