There is a roundabout in front of the west exit of Shinjuku Station. It has been there for a long time, but I still don't know how to enter the roundabout by car. I have walked countless times along the pathway that surrounds the roundabout.
Many people were walking along the pathway as usual. The sun was shining through the roundabout, silhouetting the people walking along. Everyone was on their way to somewhere. No one stopped in the middle of the aisle, and people hurriedly walked past. I stopped at a corner of such a passageway and watched the people on their way.
In the meantime, a young brother and sister began to pass in front of me. Unlike other adults, they seemed to be enjoying themselves even though they were just walking. They were walking as if they were dancing. They must be really happy to be going out. If I could enjoy just walking as much as these children do, I would surely be able to enjoy my days more. But unfortunately, I feel that I have long since lost the fresh feeling that makes me happy just by going out like these children do.
