Woman Selling Shelled Shrimps

Woman selling shelled shrimps

The shelled shrimps were piled up in the tray

Shot in the city of Yangon, Myanmar.

There was a step on the edge of the sidewalk and the street vendors did business through the use of the step. Most of the street vendors sold perishable goods here and the place looked like a supermarket.

The woman in this photo also opened a store there. A big metal tray was placed in front of her. And shrimps were displayed in the tray. Seemingly, her store was a specialized shop offering shrimps. And all of the shrimps were shelled.

Walking around the street market in Yangon, I often saw people selling shrimps. So local people seemed to prefer to eat them. Besides, it seemed to be common to sell shelled shrimps here. I thought it was easy to maintain freshness to sell unshelled shrimps. In spite of preferring to eat, the local people might dislike shelling.
