The place I walked around was crammed with butchers. Every shop set out blocks of meat. And many shoppers were wriggling between shops. Watching the scene, I wondered how the shoppers determined the shop which they should buy. The meat was displayed as far as I could see. And they looked the same for me. Perhaps, they might be different from each other by the brand or the production region.
Anyway, I focused on a female butcher this time. She worked in one of many butchers. A chopping block was placed in front of her and a kitchen knife was put on it. At the time of being, she was cutting pork. Looking closer, her tool was a strange knife. The blade was in the shape of the quarter of the circle. At any rate, the shape was uncommon in Japan.
Khlong Toei Market is Bangkok's biggest fresh market. It is located on Rama IV Road near the Khlong Toei and Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre MRT stations in the Khlong Toei neighborhood. The market offers low prices on raw meat, seafood, farm produce, and a few other items (clothing, kitchenware, etc.) and is open daily from 6.00 am – 2.00 am. In January 2010 CNN listed it as one of the most authentic markets in Bangkok as well as a place to avoid when hung over.
