The bus from Yangon to Pyay stopped at a small town without warning. It was a meal break. Many long-distance buses heading north from Yangon seem to take a meal break here, and restaurants line the main road. When the bus stopped in front of a diner, peddlers swarmed the bus. Some were adult vendors and some were children. The boy in the photo was one of them.
The boy was carrying a plastic basket filled with quail eggs. There were not many eggs left in the basket, so he seemed to have sold most of them. Do they eat quail eggs like ordinary boiled eggs? I am not sure. When I asked in English, the boy looked puzzled.
