Although there were a fair number of visitors to Nigatsudo, fewer than to the Daibutsuden, probably because there are fewer foreign tourists who go to the Nigatsudo at the back of the temple. The Nigatsudo is a place where you will not see as many foreign tourists as you did in the Daibutsuden. The view of the city of Nara from the stage jutting out of the slope is relaxing and comfortable.
The reason for the unusual name of this hall, Nigatsudo, is that the Shuni-kai (the annual ceremony of the second lunar month) is held here in the second month of the lunar calendar. I thought it was an easy name, but when I learned that the Shuni-kai is a venerable ritual that has continued from the 8th century to the present, I suddenly felt a sense of dignity. It's lax.
