Walking along the river, I came to a ferry landing, from which the boats left for the Buddhist temple built in the middle of the river. Watching the river from the bank, I found a small boat carrying some worshipers in the river. It was just heading for the island. It was not far to the island where the temple called Ye Le Pagoda (Midstream Kyauktan Pagoda) stood. And I could see its entire picture from where I stood. I would be there soon if I got on the boat.
Although the special fee for foreigners was desuetude in the Myanmar Railways, the kind of fee was still alive in this ferry landing. Unbelievably, it cost 5 US dollars. Furthermore, a signboard hung on the wall said that any foreigners couldn't board a boat which was for the local people. So the foreign tourists had to take a dedicated boat by paying 5 US dollars. I thought it was extortionate.
