Boat Crossing The River

Passenger ferry approaching wharf

The passenger boat approached the wharf

Shot at Kyauktan Township in Myanmar.

Standing on the landing bridge, I watched the river floating in front of me. The river was wide and muddy. Not only the ships with the roof but also the small wooden boats seemed to use this wharf. In the meantime, a wooden small boat appeared and approached the wharf.

About 10 passengers were seen on it. One of them put an umbrella up. And the boatman was seen standing on the tail end. Although two oars were seen on both sides of the boat, it was motorized. It moved silently while the boatman stood still. Because there were no bridges around here, the local people crossed this river by this kind of boats.

Watching them, I thought it was terrible to cross the wide river by this small boat. When the wave hit the boat from the side, it could bring down easily.
