There was a butcher shop in one corner of the market in Malda, with two men inside. One was the butcher and the other seemed to be a customer. The butcher sat in front of the man cutting the meat with a large blade, while the customer opened the mouth of a plastic bag and waited for the butcher to finish processing the meat.
The knife used by the butcher was of a type not seen in Japan. It is a type of knife with the blade attached to a stand. Therefore, the butcher does not move the blade but moves the meat to cut it. I often see this type of knife in India, but I wonder what it is called. The man is cutting the meat with a light shuffle. The blade looks sharp. I looked closely and saw that the man behind him was also looking at me sharply.
