The highlight in this floating market is to see the boats selling goods on the canal. It is a traditional market in riverside districts in Thailand. However, it is said that this style of the market grows less. In fact, there are only a few floating markets around Bangkok. The ground transportation has been a major transportation today. So the floating market became a cultural artifact.
This market built for the cultural conservation was well-groomed. Of course, the trade was done on the water. Yet there were also shops on the ground on both sides of the canal. It was possible to buy goods for people who walked on the land. It was not necessary to embark on any boats here.
Many fruits were displayed on the dock which I walked. Longans, mangosteens, rambutans, and others were sold there. Walking the dock, an older woman who sold the fruits started to attempt to reach for mangosteens.
