In spite of the quietness, some boats were running the canal on which the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market was open. It was hard to feel the bustling atmosphere of a local market because it was a dead season.
Like other many markets in Southeastern Asian countries, I could see many women working here. They did even though the job requiring heavy lifting. The women were also good workers here.
I thought it was a kind of heavy lifting to roll a wooden boat seen on the canal. Some boats were motorized. Yet I saw also many rowing boats here. And it was often seen that the female oarsman was rolling the boat.
A female oarsman also sat on the edge of the boat in this photo. She wore a traditional hat called ngob and grabbed a wooden oar in her hands.
