Like the name showed, many boats floated on the canal in Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Some of them were just for tourists. It seemed to be classic to get on a boat to look around the floating market. However, most of the boats were shipped articles for sale and did business on the canal.
I have seen photos of floating markets in Thailand many times. Yet this was the first time I came to one of the markets. The main canal was flanked by docks. And it looked like a venue for a boat race. The difference was that many thin wooden boats floated in a relaxed way.
The number of boats was lower than I expected. I thought the canal was occupied by boats and crowded. Yet it was not true. The tranquil atmosphere wafted there.
Looking at shops on the docks, many goods were displayed. However, not so many tourists were seen. And a man was taking a nap in a deserted shop.
