Because not many tourists came to this Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, the market was calm. And people working here seemed to have time to spare. When I walked along the canal in which the market was held, I often saw local people who had nothing to do.
An empty wooden boat was docked and its oarsman waited for customers to come. Nevertheless, no customers came. And the oarsman seemed to have nothing to do.
In the meantime, another boat which loaded fruits came and went alongside the empty boat. And the female hawker who sold the fruits started to talk to the oarsman. After some small talk, the woman threw a fruit to the man. Seemingly, the woman gave him one of her articles for sale.
Watching them, I thought her behavior was a real local production for local consumption. Yet it didn't make money.
