Most of the stores in this vast Khlong Toei Market sells perishable food. There were butchers, fishmongers, greengroceries, and others here. Some marine products and some vegetables are uncommon in Japan. Yet what butchers sell is similar to butchers in Japan. In most cases, beef, pork, and chickens are sold. The wild game meat, for example, deer meat or rabbit meat, is less common in this market.
The butcher I came during walking around sold also pork. Many blocks of pork were displayed in the storefront. And two women were working. One woman wearing a pink hat was cutting the pork into pieces in the back. And the other woman was close with a hunk of meat. Looking closer, the woman in the front had a small knife. She was shaving off the fuzzy hairs of the pork.
When she noticed me, she started to widen her eyes. And she looked at my camera with a humorous face.
