I proceeded to the fresh food section of the market. Unlike the hallway facing the street, this one was noisy. The Myo Ma Market in Thanlyin is not a bustling market as a whole; it depends on the location. In the fresh food section, people were busy working. There were no people sitting idly on chairs. It was a lively place. The three people in the photo were also busily working in the noisy place.

Garlic was scattered around them. The three men are working at a garlic store. When wandering around markets in Myanmar, one often encounters stores selling garlic. Myanmar must produce a large amount of garlic. According to my research, Myanmar is the 10th largest garlic producer in the world. The garlic scattered around the market looked fresh and pure white. The three of them were quietly peeling garlic. There were so many garlics that they did not peel them one by one. They used a colander to peel them efficiently.

Incidentally, February 29 is "Garlic Day" in Japan, which is a precious day that comes only once every four years.
