Not all the people who worked in this Thanlyin Myo Ma Market kept a shop. Some businessmen placed their articles for sale on the ground and did business. Perhaps, this kind of people might have the main occupation in another place. I couldn't tell what the fact was. Anyway, the man in this photo was one of the people who didn't keep a store in the market.
He sat in the middle of the passage and sold vegetables. In front of him, many vegetables were displayed on the ground. And I caught the eye of him when I stopped. He saw my camera and started to look straight at me.
Releasing my shutter, a Buddhist monk appeared behind the vegetable seller. The monk carried a black alms bowl in his hand. He was just begging for alms in this market. He didn't cast an eye on me and walked away soon. Different from Japan, Theravada Buddhism is the mainstream in Myanmar. So it was common to see Buddhist monks walking for alms in this country.
