The man was sitting cross-legged on a wagon he'd put out on the trash-littered wayside
It was a dirty street littered with trash. The shutters of the stores lining the street are also closed. A wagon was on the street with hardly any pedestrians. A man wearing a Taqiyah was sitting cross-legged on top. The man was a street vendor, selling garlic and ginger. The wagon was piled high with garlic and ginger.
Garlic and ginger are essential ingredients for making curry in India, so every household needs them. I think these ingredients would sell well even if left alone, but there is no foot traffic here. The man sitting on the wagon looked in the direction where he thought customers might come, but no one actually came. I thought about staying here until a customer showed up, but when no one did, I grew impatient and left.
