There was a thick cloud of smoke and the smell of roasting meat wafting down the alley
I walked the lanes as usual. It was not so interesting to walk wide streets. Although many automobiles came and went, I met few locals who were lazy and relax in the street during rambling along. So I preferred to walk narrow streets, especially lanes in the residential area. I could smell the ordinary lives of locals there.
For that reason, I sidetracked and entered a narrow street at this time. Unfortunately, the lane was deserted in contrast with my expectation. I followed the lane despite the situation. In the meantime, I found a smoke at the end of the lane. A man cooked meat in the deserted lane. Many blocks of meat were placed on the griddle. And the volumes of smoke wafted around him. I wondered whether he did good business in such deserted lane.
