The little girl bought some dishes in the delicatessen
I was on a residential street, passing locals. There are no tourist attractions or office buildings here, and the air is peaceful. As I walked along, I saw some stores amongst all the houses. There were private stores that catered to the locals. The store in the photo was one such store.
Pots and pans were lined up in front of the store, all tightly covered. This is a delicatessen. There are prepared foods in the pots. Behind the pots, a stout woman with thanaka painted on her face was working at a leisurely pace. The atmosphere attracted me, so I stood at the front of the store and looked through the viewfinder.
She must have come to buy some side dishes. She was placing her order in a familiar tone. As we walked around Yangon, we saw food stalls here and there. Considering the situation, eating out seems to be as common here as in other Southeast Asian countries. In such a world, the housewife who has to worry about her daily menu may be nothing more than an imaginary creature.
