The inside of the Yamuliao Market was generally dim and lacking in brightness. Even so, the woman in the photo with the front hat was working while wearing a hat. I don't think it was particularly necessary, but perhaps it was a particular fashion statement.
She was working at a delicatessen and was in the middle of making dumplings. In Taiwanese markets, it is not unusual to see dumplings being made. That's how familiar dumplings are in everyday life.
The woman deftly wrapped the minced meat in the dumpling skin and finished the dumplings one after the other. The finished products were neatly arranged on a tray in front of her. The dumplings on this tray would probably be boiled and become a delicious dish.
Watching her dexterous handiwork was like being drawn into the action. As I watched the dumplings being wrapped up, I naturally worked up an appetite and found myself almost drooling.
