Walking through the old town of Panauti, I saw a house with an open wooden door. It was too dark to see inside. But I had the feeling that something was about to come out of it. As I waited patiently to see what it was, a white object popped out of the door.
I thought it was going to be a child, but it was actually a chicken that appeared from behind the door. While walking through the old city of Nepal, it is common to see goat and other livestock. It seems to be the norm here to raise livestock within the town. If I think about it, this chicken must be a domestic animal.
The chicken strolled out to the road and looked around. For a domestic animal, it was living a pretty freewheeling life, as if it was trying to figure out which way to go to play.
