I was walking in Yangon's Chinatown, but there were no red lanterns here and there, so the atmosphere of Chinatown didn't really come across just from walking around. Still, when I looked around, I found a plaque written in Chinese characters above the entrance of the building. What was written on it seemed to be the name of this building. By the way, in Chinese culture (and also in Japanese culture, which was influenced by Chinese culture), I wondered if they decorate the entrance with the big plaque even though it is not a public building. In Malacca's Chinatown, there was a house with a large oblong plaque at the entrance even though it was not a public building.
This building was not a public building either, and it did not appear to be a dining hall or other commercial facility. Nevertheless, there was a splendid plaque on the wall. The word on the plaque was said to have been used by the Mongolian nation of Rouran Khaganate, which ruled the Mongolian plateau from the 5th to 6th centuries. Since it was named after a building, it must have had some meaning other than just an old era's name, but I don't know what it means. I guess the image of this building is the beginning of something peaceful. Maybe this building was a Taoist temple or something.
Trouble is, the plaque was not the only enigmatic thing in the building. A closer look at the plaque revealed a lone hen perched quietly on top of the plaque. It could be a cockfight because it looks so fierce. If this is a temple of some kind, it might be a divine messenger.
Incidentally, the hen is considered to be a messenger of the Ise Shrine in Japan, since the hen was responsible for bringing back the light by crowing when Amaterasu Oomikami hid in the Iwayado.
