I passed by a street lined with food stalls. Each stall had a table with chairs around it. If the weather was good, it would be pleasant to eat at such a stall, as it would give a sense of openness.
Although the weather was fine, it was early in the day for lunch, so all the stalls were sparsely populated. In such a situation, a stout woman was sitting alone on a chair. She was sitting with her back to the table and was not eating. She had a ledger spread out on her chair and a calculator beside her. Apparently, the woman was a peddler, and instead of eating, she was checking her sales there.
The woman was seriously checking the account. If sales are better than expected, she may not have to work this afternoon. Judging from her expression, she seemed to be responding to the situation. Over there, a man in Longyi was silently shoveling down a bowl of rice, despite the stout woman's speculation.
