In Myanmar, it is common to see people selling kun. Kun is a chewing tobacco-like product known as paan in India and 檳榔子 in Taiwan. Some sell it at a stand on the sidewalk, while others carry a set of tools of their trade on a tray. It is likely that many people use it that much.
I wonder which is a better way to do business, setting up a stand or walking around selling. If you set up a stand, you will probably get familiar customers sooner or later, and if you walk around selling, you can sell to people who are too busy with work to come to the stand to buy. I feel that there are good aspects to both, and I can't give you an answer after thinking about it for a while.
In any case, the man in the photo was a vendor who chose the former method of selling at a stand. The man was selling kun from a table on the sidewalk. The table was covered with betel leaves, and the man placed a betel nut on each leaf. The basket at the end of the table was full of betel nuts. By the way, the leaves are whitish because they are coated with lime water.
