When I stopped at the crossing, one young monk wearing a Kasaya appeared in my sight. He was crossing the street while he was holding an umbrella in his hand. Not only women but also young male monks were walking with sunshades in Luang Prabang.
What they wore was a Buddhist robe called Kasaya and the right shoulder was exposed when they wore it. Young monks also seemed to be worried about getting sunburned their right shoulder.
