Luang Prabang, which is home to several Buddhist temples including Wat Xieng Thong, has a large number of Buddhist monks. Many of them are young monks. Unlike Japan, the mainstream of Buddhism in Laos is Theravada Buddhism, so although all monks are ordained, many of them are said to return to the priesthood when they grow up. In any case, there are many monks walking around the streets of Luang Prabang.
When walking along the Nam Khan River, I passed a young monk wearing a monk's robe. The monk seemed to be thinking about something and did not seem to be paying any attention to me with my camera.
