Wat Suthat in Bangkok is a famous temple that is always mentioned in guidebooks, but it is not as crowded with tourists as Wat Phra Kaew. The temple grounds have a quiet atmosphere, and there are few people walking around the spacious courtyard. The only people who seemed to be busy were young monks in orange robes.
Each monk was carrying a cardboard box or pushing a cart as they walked in and out of the hall. They were carrying offerings inside the hall. Looking at them, I saw many offerings of fruits. In the photo, you can see bananas on a cart being pushed by the person in the middle.
When I saw fruits being brought into the hall one after another, I thought that the Buddha enshrined here must be very fond of fruits. In Japan, people eat offerings after they are offered to the Buddha, but I wonder if it is the same here in Thailand.
