Shot in the city of Nihonbashi, Tokyo.
There are two well-established department stores in Nihonbashi. I came to one of them, Nihonbashi Takashimaya. It has been in business for near 200 years. The architecture of the store, which was built in 1933, is stone-built and massive. It is registered as an Important Cultural Property. The interior decorating which was modern at the time of construction became old. However, oldness makes customers feel the tradition now.
The point is that the business model also gets older these days. Even though it was a weekend, the inside was not crowded. The amount of sales is descending for years. Most of the customers have come to do online shopping.
The sidewalk just in front of the department store was also deserted. Stopping on the sidewalk, I found two figures walking.
