Two men were standing on the sidewalk in Kuala Lumpur. One was talking on his mobile phone and the other was standing idle with his hands on his hips. Both men looked like they were waiting for something to come. Were they waiting for a taxi?
The history of this capital city of Malaysia is not so old. It was developed by Chinese immigrants in 1857 as a tin mining base. They settled down at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak Rivers and called it Kuala Lumpur. Kuala is the point where two rivers join together or an estuary, and Lumpur means "mud" in Malay.
