The Nihonbashi Bridge, the starting point of Japan's road network, was decorated with statues of Qilins by a sculptor named Osao Watanabe, which evoked a sense of history. But alas. The highway running right above the bridge spoils the view. Most of the bridge is in shadow because of the highway.
There was one spot on the bridge, mostly in shadow, where the sun was shining, and a woman was walking with a paper bag. The paper bag seemed to be from the nearby Mitsukoshi department store, so she was probably on her way home from shopping.
