There is a department store right in front of Fujisawa station, ODAKYU Shonan Gate. I had a little too much time on my hands, so I went inside and wandered around. The inside of the department store looked like it had just been remodeled, and there were some fashionable knick-knacks for sale. But even though it was a weekend night, the store was deserted. Walking through the empty store, I could clearly sense the decline of the department store industry. In Japan today, local department stores are closing one after another. This department store may be swallowed up by the wave. Until then, it may be a good place to shop for those who want to take their time.
Tired of walking around the department store, I came to the stairwell. The staircase continues up and down in a triangular shape. When I stopped in the middle of the staircase and looked down, I could see quite a bit down to the floor below. I looked down and saw a figure quietly walking up and down the stairs.
